Interview Participants Wanted!
Hi all! I realize this group hasn't seen any activity in the past year, but I thought I'd give a shout out to see if anyone is still listening. My name is Krista McLuskey. I'm a sociology Master’s student writing my thesis and would like to interview you about how you heard of polyamory, how you became polyamorous, and how you maintain your relationships without widespread societal support. If you’re 21 or older and have been polyamorous for three or more years, please contact me mcluskey@uvic.ca! I'd really appreciate hearing from you. And if you're not interested, but know someone else who might be, I'd appreciate you passing my name on.
Thanks so much for your time!

Hey folks, just stumbled across this community by accident. Looks rather dormant, but thought I'd join since I'm from Calgary. I'm a gay male in an open relationship - oh wait, aren't all gay male relationships open? ;-)

Polyamory workshop –July 28th - Calgary
July 28th P3Gatherings is proud to present a workshop on Polyamory led by Nelson & Jilleena. Many individuals involved in the BDSM lifestyle are attracted to polyamory and other non-monogamous relationship models. In this workshop we’ll aim to go through the possibilities available to us, either in our current or perhaps future relationships. For more information about the class, please visit our website at: http://p3gatherings.com/ Nelson is the current President of the Edmonton O Society and has previously taught along with Mistress Taz for P3Gatherings. Jilleena is the founder of Views from the Bottom – a discussion and educational group for bottoms (submissives, etc) in Edmonton and is also an executive member of the Edmonton O Society.

Our July 28th event also includes:
• Advanced Needle Play workshop with Mistress Taz
• Our regular Private Play Party

Newbie :)
Hello, I dunno if this is the place to post this (delete if it is not), but I guess I'm introducing myself into the Calgary community. My name is Nathan (some of you may know me as Flagg) and I have recently seemed to have found myself in a poly relationship.

At this point, while i settle myself into this, I am wondering if there are any people out there who might allow me to contact them regarding questions I may have, or just someone to talk to (besides my mate) about possible (and probably stupid) concerns.

If yes, please contact me (email or adding to msn) Munku998@hotmail.com

Avoiding Sexual Souvenirs
I normally just post P3Gatherings workshops on the Calgary_kink group, however I thought this one is important enough that other people in other communities might also be interested.

We'd appreciate your input!
Hi, I'm posting here because it is glbtq related and I feel strongly that your input can really make a difference. However, if it is not in alignment with the essence of this community, please feel free to release this post.

I want to introduce a brand-new homo/bi/t friendly community: happy_gay_life

This is a community dedicated to building a positive glbtq image by sharing joyful and constructive experiences of being glbtq.

Ever wonder why there are so few glbtq stories/movies with happy endings? I did.

I figure out that it has to come from us. We've got to count our blessings and share these lovely moments with each other: the special moments that bring smiles to our faces, that make our hearts sing, that tickle us, that move us to tears of joy ... on a daily basis.

Every time you share a line of joy, you're contributing to building a positive glbtq image and creating a better life for yourself.

Come! Join us and have some fun!

I help run a monthly workshop group for the kink/fetish/BDSM community in Calgary.

We did a workshop/discussion in November on Swinging, and it was fairly well recieved, however there's not a lot of intigration between swinging and bdsm right now in Calgary (at least publically) However.. there's a lot of people who are drawn to polyamory, and would like to learn more.

so.. I'm looking for a speakerCollapse )

Okay all you cat people...
Amigone and I took in deidre23's Harley, but we have been evicted (without cause because our landlord supposedly didn't know our suite was illegal) and we have to find a different home for him because our new place is almost all carpets and we don't own a shampooer. We were fine here on all hardwood, but now...well his accidents are not a good match if you are mobility impaired and trying to clean up after him. *sigh* As much as it breaks my heart, we are now activly home hunting for him, as we don't want him going to the shelter.

If anyone can help, please reply ASAP. Thanks...

Just someone new
Well, I have been a lurker for the last week and finally decided to jump in! Live Journal is new to me, so if I show my nerdiness, please jump in with sarcastic comments. Would love to get involved in the Calgary Poly community, as I just moved up from Seattle.

I live in a three bedroom townhouse in Lynnview. I'm a 38 year old woman who prefers quiet nights at home after work, non smoker, non-partier.

I am gay/alternative lifestyle-friendly (I'm bi/bdsm).

I need to rent out one bedroom (or I'm gonna have to move, and I don't want to!) to a quiet, non-smoker/outside smoker, prefer female (will
consider the right male) 35-45, must like cats and not have any other roving pets, meaning no other cats or dogs or ferrets, etc., as my cats
barely tolerate each other and don't like other animals (full-time caged, aquarium pets ok).

Intimate partner visits ok on weekends only as I'm a light sleeper and am not usually home on weekends. Sorry if that sounds unreasonable, but if I don't sleep properly I get physically ill.

My family (mom and sis) visits about once a month, so tolerance for the occasional three giggly females is appreciated.

I'm pretty tolerant and respectful of privacy and personal space as long as you are respectful and clean.

My unit has 1 + 1/2 bath, full basement, insuite laundry, 3 bedrooms, small fenced back yard, but sorry, only one parking stall per unit and I'm using it. Another parking stall can be rented if needed.

The #24, 36 and 41 buses stop just outside the complex, there are parks nearby, and a small strip mall (containing a convenience store, liquor store, beauty salon, chinese restaurant and a laundromat) across the street. Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart are within 30 minute walking distance and #36 goes by it both ways.

Looking for a speaker
I run a monthly kinky discussion group for the BDSM community in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

We cover all sorts of topics that are BDSM oriented – or that affect the BDSM community like safety, aftercare, and events.
For November’s group, we’re doing Swinging, and it’s come up that a lot of people would like to discuss Polyamory at some point as well (sometime after December). Although I could speak on the topic, I’d like to get someone separate to come and speak.

If anyone would be interested or willing to come speak, here’s the information about the discussion groups: http://p3gatherings.com/ (click on the “discussion group” link) you can reach me here, or through p3gatherings@gmail.com

Thanks!
